Hey I just wanted to no that if a AMD 7770 will work with my Insiron 530. I posted on Aiw a while back if i should buy the 6870, but then i saw this. Will the card work in my pc, its currently has:

Intel Core 2 quad 2.4

2 gig ram

1tb hdd

Current card: Geforce 9400 gt, Mannual OC

The main reason i asked cause the 7770 is a pci-3.0 card, idk if my mobo is compatible :/

Go with the hd 6870, its a better performing card and eats 70 watts more. There are three main things you have to check before buying a new card.

 

1.Your case airflow (mine sucks but im getting a new one after holidays together with i7 2600k and a new mobo)

2.Do you even have enough the space in your case for the card.

 

3.Power supply

 

3 And lastly if the card is pci-e 3.0 it will work just normally with your standard pci-e 16 slot (mine is 2.1 and works like a charm)

 

4.If you decide to go with 6870 make sure you have two 6 pin power connectors.
