Hello, I've been playing since AlterIW and I had this problem in aIW but it was not nearly disruptive enough for me to try to fix it. In 4D1 the problem is amplified to the point where it is giving me problems. Like random little lag/network stutters and the game completely freezes for fraction of a second, and sometimes it stutters really bad and i actually go back a few steps.. The random stutters are really annoying and are starting to affect my gameplay... does anybody have a fix for this? Any replies appreciated.

 

 

Also did you guys add some kind of compensation system? Because i noticed on 4D1 the latencys seem off... 100 ping feels like 150 and 70 feels like 130 ping.. I also get out-gunned by people with worse ping than me a lot when it shouldn't happen. Is there some kind of config fix for this or is it a problem with the base game? What happened?

It seems you are saying MW2 is "stuck" at the splash screen (the picture of the soldier with the MW2 logo + title). It will be non-responsive, and the only way to close it will be to CTRL-ALT-DEL or to right-click and press close. This will result in the annoying "Do you wish for MW2 to run in safe mode message" which will constantly popup because of you not being able to close the program properly. Everytime the multiplayer is run, this error will occur. After consulting Activision Support, I fixed this error on my own MW2 files, and I have decided to share that method to fix this.

 

Use this directory 'C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\call of duty modern warfare 2\zone\english' to find the file mp_playlist.ff.

 

Delete that and it should be working fine.
