So I've been playing alter revolution for awhile now. and basically a friend of mine would like to play.I gave him acces to my steam account (wich has mw2) let him download mw2 and put alter revoluion in it. But he gets a strange error.

 

It says when he starts up : Iw4m.dat has stopped working.

 

Any solutions? I tried deleting all the steam*.dll not the steamapi.dll one and still doesn't work.

 

He has windows vista.

Wanna fix it? Try this:

iw4m/InstallIW4M.exe

It all went wrong the minute you decided to use arev.

So...are you trying to install alterRev on your PC and asking US to help?

Deleting the "m2demo" folder from both:

 

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\IW4M

and

 

C:\Program Files (x86)\Act*******\Mod*** ******* 2

(or wherever your game was installed)

 

AND running the game in Windows XP SP3 compatibility seems to work for me. Nothing else did.
