Verified steams cache....

copied new game folder....

Fresh install IW5M Client...

All .Net framework updated...

Game loads....login.....freezes at main screen everytime....

I own the whole game with DLC.....

 

I have the IW4M and that runs fine.......

 

Any Ideas? All help appreciated...

You can't click on "Play", "Servers", "options", etc?

Nope....nothin...

Run the game on windowed mode and see if you get some error on the background.

If you verified the game cache, then it shouldn't be related with the game files itself, but rather the way that your operating system is handling them.

Have you tried to disable xfire in game

I don't have X-Fire installed.

 

It just confuses me why the steam one works and this doesn't...

 

Any other ideas would be helpful...

lolsowrong, you forgot mod support, x4 XP, better anti cheat, ranked servers and an overall better experience. Go play on matchmaking if you don't like our services then

How long have you waited and what are your specs? I used to play on a low end pc, at the game would freeze for a minute or two at startup, because my pc needed at bit more time to load the files and all.. But it was a maximum of two minutes...

I let the screen sit frozen for at least 15 minutes..

 

System Specs:

AMD FX 8 core

32 gigs ram

Nvidia 690 GTX

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

 

Never really have a problem with any game. This is a first time issue.

When was the last time that you installed windows in that computer?

And how much crap did you install ever since you installed windows the last time...

Hanging on the main menu like that, after a Steam check, can only be symptoms of a messed up operating system.

There are countless applications out there that can slowly corrupt an operating system, so I don't blame you for installing those craps.

My solution for those issues is always to reinstall windows and avoid installing "doubtful applications" (aka crap)

I'm not saying that there's no way to run the game without reinstalling windows. Maybe it's just an anti-virus preventing iw5m.dat from running properly. But if you can find the cause of it, then you should seriously consider reinstalling windows.

Atleast for me, system stability and reliability are the things I value the most on computers.

1 month old install of windows....

 

This is not my first rodeo either...

 

All games and software run perfectly on my system except this addon...

 

Any other input would be greatly appreciated...
