"Couldn't load image 'gamefonts_PC' "

 

I get this error when I run "LaunchIW5M.exe" I don't know what the problem is, I have just checked if it had something to do with an update error so I deleted Caches.xml & opened it again, but nothing.

corrupt IWD`s redownload main folder(my suggestion)

I was playing it last night.

Found a link posted on steam forums http://pastebin.com/jFU8W7yA

This can be fixed by going to the main/ directory in MW2,

and renaming all 'localized_russian_iw01.iwd' files (or

'french', or whatever language you use) to 'english'.

 

For instance, my main/ folder (%steam%\steamapps\common\

call of duty modern warfare 2\main) contained the following

files originally:

localized_russian_iw00.iwd

localized_russian_iw01.iwd

...

localized_russian_iw08.iwd

--------------------------

 

Renaming them to be named like this fixed the error:

 

--------------------------

localized_english_iw00.iwd

localized_english_iw01.iwd

...

localized_english_iw08.iwd

--------------------------

That image is part of localized_english_iw00.iwd

Check what's wrong with your localized_english_iw00.iwd (it should be on "main" folder)

I checked all of them, everything looked fine, I'm just re-downloading it.. It was fine last night, it just makes no sense My internet bill is gonna be massive, downloaded Mw3 like 10 times.. Hopefully I still have unlimited bandwith.

If it is the case that the file corrupted, it might be a nice thing for you to run a defrag on your pc to (somewhat) help prevent further issues.

Excessively read/writing large amounts of data at a time on traditional (platter) harddrives can cause issues as well ;p
