Server NULL (empty) files, r24

 

Put files in your server /main folder, backup originals beforehand.

iw_23.iwd is not included, because it gets replaced by de update tool dsut.exe , IWD's and iwi CRC32 values match but I guess it checks size, or something

 

My server is 2.74GB + - now

 

iw_25.iwd to iw_34.iwd are not necessary for a server.

 

use "amw3del.exe" to delete singleplayer files (not included)

And when I saw "r24" on the title, I thought it would include DLC nulled IWDs (the one you're sharing is an old package already laying around the forum)

If you check CRC32 values you would see mine match the originals, while the ones laying around don't

In your theory, null files wouldn't be needed at all. Saying that iw_25 to iw_34 aren't needed is the same as saying that the only thing you need is fileSysCheck.cfg on iw_00

 

But null files have a purpose. When sv_pure is on, there's a hash compare being done between the server and the client. All IWDs except the localized ones (otherwise different localization installations wouldn't be compatible, and that means that localized IWDs aren't needed on the server at all) are compared.

Null IWDs exist so that you have hash references on the server, without taking the full size of the archive.

 

On a conclusion, if on IW5 sv_pure is off, you only need fileSysCheck.cfg on iw_00, and you can delete all other IWDs (and the images folder on iw_00 aswell). But if sv_pure is on, you'll need all the IWDs, between iw_00 and iw_34, full or nulled. If you're missing a hash with sv_pure on, clients will be kicked with "impure client detected" message.

In either case, you'll never need nulled localized IWDs, since those never get compared.
