So steelmax and others were being trolls.... Calling me failures.... etc..... etc....

 

Anyway

 

When I start IW5 the patcher crashes at 8 percent. Claiming a file is being used. Specifically

 

System.IO.IOExceptoin: The process cannot acess the file C program files (x86) activision call of duty mw3 zone english code_post_gfx.ff.deco because it is being used by another rocess

At system.io._error.winIOerror(int32 errorcode, String maybe full path)

 

Followed by many other strange words.

Steps taken so far

 

1. Uninstall

2. Reinstall

3. Install Map packs

4. Run installer

5. FAILURE

1. Uninstall

2. Reinstall

3. Patch

4. Failure

5. Install map packs

6. Launch MW3 patcher

7. Failure

8. Uninstall

1. Clean install NO MAP PACKS

 

That is where i am now. Yes im running the patcher (IW5M) and mw3 on administrator. As well as the patcher.

Did you checked your task manager? There might be any program interrupts the patcher.

Firstly try un-checking read-only on your game folder then run the updater again. If that doesn't work, try this:

1) Create a new folder called 'back' or so in IW5 folder/zone/english

2) Drag every file which is in the /english folder to the 'back' folder you just created

3) Open the IW5 updater.

4) If everything goes right, it should add the new maps now.

5) IW5 is trying to open but crashes after a few seconds. Don't worry!

6) Drag every file of 'back' back to the original folder (IW5 folder/zone/english). If it asks to overwrite, just select no to all.
