Play in 'noborder-windowed-mode'.

And you get that mode by typing this in the console:

 

r_noborder 1;r_fullscreen 0;r_mode"RESOLUTIONxRESOLUTION";vid_ypos 0;vid_xpos 0;vid_restart

 

^it might work if you paste it all in, but just incase type each of the commands with enter inbetween.
