Hi to all!

Ive been hosting servers for a good while now, but always with addons, never tried B3, im on it now..is allready working + ive build a separated server just to try it and understand how it works...everthing seems to be ok , but now is time to customize, i more or less do understand that this has to be done in the conf folder..using .xml, but i dont really understand the values to change and wat they do...does any1 know a good tutorial explaning this? i would be very grateful, as well id love to know how the hell do i log into conlose ingame..always saying..you need to use rcon login before u can use rcon...and thats what i do! but no change..i supose that it has to do with user level and permissions...am i right? can some1 please tell me how to increase this level? like i said im new to B3, but i do know a bit about "dedi" so i just need a little push....

Thank u very much killers!

sorry for my spelling...im spanish.

That "rcon login" has nothing to do with B3. That's the game's own rcon (wich is not working).

About the xmls, b3.xml is the main config file for b3, while the other xmls control the plugins.

For example, in plugin_admin.xml the numbers that show up there are the admin level required to use each of the commands.

Plugins can be stored anywhere, as long as the path is properly configured on b3.xml, but they're usually stored on "plugins" folder, with it's xmls stored on "conf" folder, or "extplugins", with it's xmls stored on "extplugins\conf"

If you want to learn how commands are added, take a look at this plugin -> viewtopic.php?f=42&t=17661

Thank u all very much for posting reply so fast,

i was told that in-game console was functional with b3, also bigbrotherbot page says so, or something like that...

im confused...) I do have b3 working i just dont understand the values to change...for example in admin.xml, for what it shows, i understand that each action requires a level...but what level has a normal user? how do i put my self as "GOD" :) , and does this mean that users can reach levels so they can gain "power" in my servers? so someone could in a future reach certain level so they can manage my server? :( , thats the part i dont understand...the rest doesnt seem very complicated, change "ads" or console messages seems pretty obvious...is that admin thing that i dont understand. i even have the xrlstats working....

Thank you very much!

I'm assuming that you used "iamgod" command when you first entered your server.

From that moment on, there will be no more server admins, unless you assign them permissions.

"!putgroup [user] [keyword]" is the command to assign powers to a user. Example: "!putgroup Paulofonta admin"

That command would make me (if I was registered on your database) admin on your server, wich is level 40 (remember the level numbers on the xlms?)

You can take a look at admin levels here -> http://wiki.bigbrotherbot.net/usage:groups

In stock "plugin_admin.xml" you got this:

		60
40

Wich means that an "admin" (wich is level 40) can kick, but can't ban.

"fulladmin" (wich level 60) and up can ban.

secondly..WOW! imagod command?????? never heard of that! how does this work? i neeeeed that!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahaha sound so good.

thank u very much! :)

The !iamgod cmd should have been the very first thing you did when entering your server with it empty. If not, do so pronto. Anyone can enter that in your server and become Super Admin, thus controlling your bot.

If you take a look inside your b3 directory, inside your conf, there should be a file called b3doc.html. I believe it's automatically generated once b3 is started for the first time. That is a quick 'cheat sheet' for you to get familiar with the commands relevant to your server. And like Paulofonta referred to earlier, you can change a lot, if not most of the perimeters in the .xml files.
