Uuh hi guys/gals

I'm a 25 year-old medical student waiting to begin practice, so i have kind of free time on my hands - when i'm not working.

 

I love FPS, been playing it for a long time. Favorite FPS is Duke Nukem 3D.

Like 6 months ago i found out that you can play MW2 online, without buying the game. Being the poor student that i am, i paid a visit to aIW and downloaded the client. I was at first put off by the amount of wallhackers, cheaters and the aCI messages spaming the screen, but at least i was shooting somebody!

 

AND THEN i have no idea what happened, i had a few test like in april, so i lost the plot.

Somebody please explain what the crap is going on?

 

Who are the people behind the different clients available and what's up with the schism? what's exactly going on? Why should i support either this client or that? Can you prove a client is faulty and infected with trojans? What's your purpose? What is 4D1 or alterRev getting out of having their own clients?

just for the record, i don't trust people over at alterRev because something is wrong somehow - when you ask the ops over there a question, all they do is either totally disregard you and your question, or they give you these banal calculated answers, like the ones NASA teaches their astronauts to spit out. something does smell fishy over there.

Sorry this doesn't answer anything, but you said that you were a poor college student yet you PAID aiw a visit.

Well, aIW received a Cease and Desist letter by Activision's lawyers, so we discontinued the project. Then aRev was born, trying to continue it for free.

After some time, NTA decided to continue the project, giving some "legal" spins to prevent any discontinuation, and he created FourDeltaOne. At first you had to buy the game to play, so aRev did have a reason to live. Nonetheless, the "Steam checker" was removed, so now you're able to play this for free. NTA and Pigophone have been releasing constant updates to the client (the so called "revisions"), and since the source is public, the staff over at alterRev has been copying and pasting it to their ripoff. Guess from where they got the server files? Yep, the old aIW masterserver files that got leaked.

Anyway, this constant copying has enraged some community members, so be aware of any conflict/drama that might appear on here.

In case any doubt still exists, we are the legit team, the ones that can bring original updates to the game.
