So I love Dedicated servers on MW2..and I hope this new approach will be accepted by Activision as legal, but if someone could answer a few questions..
1. I own MW2 on steam but I do not own the DLCs, how will this affect me?
2. What are the odds of this project meeting the "legal" requirement, indefinitely?
3. Will the anticheat have to be reworked?
4. How will this legal mod work with steam? I understand it will check for legitimate copies via steam accounts, but will the new xuid's or FDO(fourDeltaOne) accounts be linked to your steam account in some way?
5.Will bans be carried over from the old anticheat or will there be a fiesta of cheaters for the first few weeks?
6.Considering the letter from Activision..it seems they realize NTA's skill and achievements in further developing PC MW2 but acted on the pirated versions being able to play and the pursuit of aBO and aMW3, are we safe this time around? Staying only with MW2 and forcing legitimate copies of the game etc? Will Activision accept this? I am a bit concerned for NTA as I was under the impression the letter stated they wanted him not to embark on something like this again, even if the new project meets legal standard will it be allowed considering his past project and what the letter stated?
7. Are the new maps going to be in the new project (Oil Rig etc) or wouldn't that fall under the "Unfair Competition" considering MW2 sold maps as DLCs
