so i have to make a 3d car(not pretty) for my class, and im having trouble creating an edge on a flat face. on the poly count display, it says my other faces have 2 tris...but on this one face, it says i have 8.

 

i know why i cant create an edge, but does anyone(who has experience with this) know how to lower the count from 8 to 2...or how to see what is causing the 8 tris.
