I currently have windows 7 which came installed with the laptop. Is it worth getting Windows 8. I am not going to buy it, I have my ways of obtaining a copy (you know what I mean)

no. MAYBE if you want a pretty quick boot time and want to play angry birds and shit.

If you don't mind the Metro interface, it's totally worth it.

if your laptop is a touch screen, then go right ahead lol

If you have a touchscreen or like to watch videos and check your facebook from your desktop then you might like it. If you like to play games and actually USE your computer then i would say keep 7.

Sources- My friend recently got 8 on his pc and i hate it. Too much bs in the way, maybe if i had a touch screen id consider it. My pc still has 7 and i will forever love it though. Anyway imho 7>8.

currently using win 8, although some programs have comparability issues with it that AREN'T solved with the comparability tab...

W8 is a mess but it does improve some performance. I don't get what Gabe Newell is so worried about.
