Trying to get viewtopic.php?f=40&t=10822 to work , i put the file in the scripts folder but i dont have a message.txt file so how would i go about getting this to work ? do i need a plugin or something ? like what would be the steps to getting this to work because i put the file in the folder and created a message.txt and put it in scripts but its seems to not want to work.

make sure u have exactly 6 lines or more i recommened using notepad++ to do it since it has a line counter

So, now you have "message.txt" on scripts folder, and it's still not loading your text?

yeah still not loading it. do i have to type in something? in the console or in game to get it to work?

You have to load the script.

Either type on the console:

loadscript messages.dll

(will get enabled after a map load, restart or fast_restart)

 

or add on your server's cfg:

seta loadscript messages.dll

I would have suggested that but I was thinking this is commen sense if your using a plugin you need to load it lol but thats just me

On a nother topic, he mentioned that he was trying to use Nukem's addon, in wich the scripts don't get loaded on request, but rather loaded all the time.

So, if he was used to that, he must be informed that here the plugins are loaded and unloaded upon request (through loadscript/unloadscript commands)

Thank you seeing i did and have always used nukems addon . But i did a fresh install seeing someone told me nukems will give me more trouble then its worth . so i tried to load it and load it in server.cfg file already as well and still dont work. i have the dll and the txt in scripts folder. so i dont know what else to do...

 

I did a fresh install so i dont have nukems mod on any more. its fresh install with just IAM and Message. Thats it so not sure why it still wont work

You need "messages.dll" and "message.txt" on "scripts" folder.

Keep in mind about the "s" difference between the two file names.
