I was looking into this as well as I hit a quad and I got the error, apparently its something to do with the server and who runs it as certain servers do this problem.

I also believe that if the server you were on was on the list and it goes off as of it disconnecting then you cant run the demo, my belief may be right or not idk.

Demos are currently EXTREMELY buggy. Don't expect progress on that for a while. As for lag outs, all I can really say on that is...well...s**t happens. It's an unfortunate reality that every game in existence faces from time to time.
