So heres my problem:

 

There is a very odd kind of lag in my server. No its not due to my internet. trust me i checked. I even reinstalled the game. What I think is causing the lag is that for some reason my game and server both use the files present in my server folder i.e server uses files in "D:/server and the game which is present in "D:/Games/Call of duty Mw-2" uses "D:/Server" files. Is this normal? and if not Please tell me how to resolve this issue.

If this is incorrect please give me a correct tutorial.

In 4D1 you dont need to seperate files.

 

use full mw2 (steam/skidrow or download spmaps somewhere)

 

download iw4m_updater (dsut.zip) put it in your mw2 directory

 

run iw4m_updater... it will update your client to latest...

 

download iw4m.exe or rename iw4m.dat to iw4m.exe

 

to run game double click it

 

to run server make a batch file or shortcut then add -dedicated +exec server.cfg +map mp_rust
