This is my current config:

ATI Radeon HD4350 ( yes, it's funny, and I didn't have cash for anything else at the time)

AMD X4 630 2.81 ghz

Asus M2N68 AM SE2 Mobo

4GB DDR2 Ram.

Now what I wanted to ask here is, if I were to change the GPU only to maybe a gtx560 would it be a waste considering my RAM is shit, and perhaps my Processor is also ?

Or do I have a good enough processor to get value for my money from the gtx560.

A complete overhaul is not in my budget at all. I might be getting a monitor too.

my processor is about...2.7ghz, and i have 6gb of ddr2 ram, and the gtx 560 ti superclocked(about $230 i think)

i can play most games on high i only have problems with cpu intensive games...like gta4

id say get the EVGA gtx560 ti(if u can)because if you ever decide to get better parts in the future, you can always use that gpu again :D

How bad is my CPU actually ? I mean seriously I thought I knew about computers but after getting the radeon 4350 I realise I didn't know anything at all. So yeah how bad is my CPU ? I was hoping to play GTA you know, I've been wanting to play IV since it came out, I just never could.

Edit: And how much difference would be there between the gtx 560 and the gtx 560ti ? And is there any ATI card along the same line as the gtx560, since I know for a fact that ATI is cheaper. I really have a cash crunch right now, just found out the ti is Rs.14850 my budget was 16000 with the monitor.

well the closest i could find to the gtx 560 ti($240) was the Radeon HD 6870($190)

and when i said i have problems with cpu intensive games, i ment i am unable to play gta4 on max settings, because of CPU...yours is better than mine so you can probably play it on higher settings than me

oh and what power supply are you going to get?...the Radeon HD 6870(if you are going to get it) recommends a 550Watt

Would you recommend buying the 6870 ? Is it any good or do I get more value for my money on the gtx 560ti ?

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/330?vs=290

As you can see, performance is nearly identical (depends on games), and let's have a look at the price of both cards:

HD6870 = $180, about €145.

GTX560TI = $230, about €185.

In conclusion, the HD6870 still is one of the best options value for money wise. I would know, since I have 2 of them in my system and I can play any game, maxed out at a resolution of 1680x1050. (I know that resolution isn't that amazing, but just to give you an idea.)

As for the processor, it will be fine for playing most games of today, but in the future you may run into problems. If you are planning to stick with AMD, your best bet would be to get a cheap Phenom II X4 965 or X6 1055T or better processor, the X4 is only about $120, about €96, and will give you better performance than the current generation of "Bulldozer" CPUs. (The X6 variant would be even better, but obviously would cost more, and they are out of stock pretty much everywhere you look.)

And since your motherboard is most likely AM2+, you won't even HAVE to buy an AM3/AM3+ board if you're going for a Phenom II, unless you want to take advantage of DDR3 RAM. Phenom II CPUs work with DDR2 and DDR3 RAM.

If you want to go to the Intel side of things instead, I'd say go with a 2500K, the new equivelant, the 3570K, will not give you any major performance increase, and they also run hotter if you plan to overclock them. They also don't overclock as far, you might as well bump up your 2500K 200MHz and get the same performance. The current price of a 2500K is about $220, about €175.

I really don't feel like typing anymore now, lol, if you need more help feel free to PM me.
