I need a new headset for my gaming but wanted something that'll also work with my phone (or music player) and was considering getting the highly regarded Siberia V2 but then i saw the 7H and thought of getting that but it has mixed reviews either praising or criticizing its durability..

 

Anyone got any experience with these? I know that there will be someone who will suggest getting the "AD700 with a mic" but having tried those with my phone, i doubt i'll get them. They dont isolate AT ALL!! And they're massive..

 

So, yeah. Any help will be appreciated.

I have a Plantronic Gamecom 367, mic hides away nicely. I showed it to my friends and they couldn't find the mic. And they have good quality for a $30-40 headset.

I highly recommend Siberia V2. Most comfortable headset I've ever tried, they look very cool, and can be used with mobile because of nice retractable mic.

i have the siberia V2 usb headset i also had a pair of 5H or 7H before

 

my opinion: V2 is much more comfortable and sound is more contained and sounds better

5H, 7H is not as good fitting, might annoy you after a while, and sound is less contained and sounds thinner

I got the 7H and i must admit that I love this headset.

It has very clean sound so you can hear footsteps really good, mic is good quality, its really light and very comfortable. I really recommend it.

V2 here. Got em for free. Wonderful headset. Bass is very pronounced, sound is clear. I like the retractable mic. However, if you're looking cheaper, Gamecoms aren't that bad. Granted, sound isn't amazing because of the price, but they are extremely comfy as well. However, I love my V2's as well, so take your pick. If you want to put out $135 or so, you can get some Bose circumaural headphones. These are the most amazing ones that I've tried. Literally, I was in a Best Buy and they had a pair that you could try on. First: The place was super busy, tv's blaring as usual. However, when I put on the headphones, I actually felt like I was the only one in the store. All the white noise stopped, and I could only hear my friend who was right next to me. Granted, no mic. But if you want something that feels extremely comfortable (much more comfy than my Siberias) and sounds amazing, I wouldn't blame you if you ended up getting a pair. Cheers!

Do you even know what a headset is? It has nothing to do with your mouse.

That's because they're open headphones, what did you expect? Maximum isolation?

And the reason why they're so massive is because they're circum aural headphones, meaning that they will cover your whole ear instead of sitting on your ears like with supra aural headphones.

 

Either way, I think it's a stupid thing to trade actual, good headphones for shitty retarded gaming headsets.

 

What you could try is using the MDR-V6 with a separate mic, but keep in mind that there's a sudden drop around the 13kHz and 17kHz mark, so you'll probably want to EQ that out. The MDR-V6 is supra aural, so it shouldn't be as 'massive' as the ATH-AD700.

I have AKG k518-s. They have exellent quality, they fold away so you can put them in your coats pocket and they are supercomfortable. Actually I bought them just for listening to music when not home but now I use them when behind my computer as well. And they isolate really nicely.
