Hey guys, so I decided i'm going to get either the gt 430 or hd 5450. I just wanted to know if you have these cards and what fps are you getting? + settings?

I think you would get at least 75+ FPS, since I have an antique GT 9500 and get about an average 55 FPS.

 

Not sure about specificaly those cards, but I run everything basically as it was shipped, except at 1680x1050 resolution and Specular Map on.

 

I'd say you could get at least (AT LEAST) 50-60 FPS with Specular Map, Textures, etc. and Anti-Aliasing on 4x, and others on High/Extra (Extra on select 1-2).

I used to have a GT9000 and it ran the game perfectly fine at somewhat medium settings, i now use a 525 and it can run the game on the highest settings possible while staying continuous at 60fps @1360x768, so I'm pretty sure a 430 would also be able to play the game with no problems and at the highest settings.

HD 5450 sucks hard, dont get it

Get yourself a GTX560 at least. Prepare yourself for future games .

 

Don't forget that only the graphic card isn't enough, a good CPU and at least 4Gb ddr3 (8 or more is recommended)

the real problem with that is I have an htpc with enough space for only low profile cards. I'm honestly not rich and cannot and will not purchase/build a gaming pc at the moment since I obviously can't afford it. My specs right now are amd athlon 64 x2 5000+, 3gb ddr2, 640gb hdd, 220w psu, nvidia geforce 9200 and I can run mw2 at 30 fps on high, low res, no shadows or specular map.

However, the gdp of these two cards are 60w at maximum load which is plenty because my computer requires only a bit more than 150w so I have 70 w to use. But I really dont want to stress it out too much so I might buy an ATX 500w psu and leave it outside the case.

TDP (thermal design power) != actual power consumption. And what's GDP in PC terms? The only GDP I know if is Gross Domestic Product.

And the GT 430 consumes 75W.

400w is for the whole system, 5450 doesn't consume that.
