I am aiming to run a Linux Distro alongside my Windows installation. I have chosen a few Distros, but I have no clue as to which is better. My choices are Ubuntu 12.05, Linux Mint 13, Ultimate Edition 3.3, and Debian.

I have a 64 bit processor, 6 GB of ram, and am running a laptop. The make and model: Asus G73Jh.

I want something with eye candy, isnt as slow as windows, doesnt require loads and loads of constant updates, doesnt have loads of bugs and issues, i dont care if it is difficult to use.

But, out of the 4 distros i listed above, which do you consider to be the best? I do plan to do some low level programming, and understand that I can use Wine to run many Windows programs. I also aim to run a IW4M server off of my laptop, and have no clue to as if that is possible when running a Linux distro.

...You didn't just say ''linux'', did you?

Ubuntu/Mint if you want nice driver compatibility and something that's easy to use.

Debian if you want to run a distro with only free software.

Never heard of Ultimate Edition 3.3.

Arch Linux if you are a hipster.

Fedora if you want something like Red Hat Linux

Gentoo if you're a basement dwelling neckbeard.

Haiku if the penguin is too heavy to lift.

Nobody can tell you which is the best distro, it's all opinions.
