Mw2 MP doesn't start

I really need some help because when I try start up mw2 it just doesn't work I have tried the sp to go into mp but still nothing please help

in steam right click on the game and properties

click on the local files tab, and click check integrity of game cache

in case you have the skidrow version then re-download and re-install it.
