Its for real. And thats only if you MODIFY or DELETE files in system32.

Might be a manual thing... You will have to change your game language to english, and then post a screenshot of the error IN ENGLISH. (Or just translate it for us)

Does it say anything about sound? And is it Couldnt locate access point in line XXXX or something?

There's no Dutch version of MW2... lol. It's your operating system's language, it basically says this:

 

Can't find access point of procedure (blabla) in mss32.dll

I wouldn't know how to fix this... :/ I would say get that DLL like Toolbox said but since you already tried and it had no effect, I don't know.

Maybe. But I need this to be translated. Did you download that new localization.txt from the big stickied Common Errors thread in #10? Thats what gives you the error in english.

Delete any mss32.dll in C:\Windows\System32, or C:\Windows\SysWOW64

AND delete the mss32.dll in your 4D1 folder or steam folder.

i placed it in C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Modern Warfare 2 and to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam

still get the same error

it says directsound but i have directX installed ofcourse
