What programs do I need to start a game commentary?

Опубликовано:

I've been wanting to start a commentary on games for quite some time. Y'know, just Minecraft commentaries or Sims 3. Just casual commentating until I can get my FPS skills in check.

But the thing is, I've got absolutely NO idea what I need. The guides on YouTube don't exactly give an in-depth explanation of what programs I need and how to use them.

Could any of you help?

Get Dxtory if you have a decent HDD and GPU,CPU otherwise get fraps!

._. | Quite the opposite actually...

Here's how I'm going to be doing it soon / have done it:

- Use Audacity (It's free!) to record your voice, edit it and make it sound less 'annoying' if your mic is shitty. Just YouTube search "How to improve voice with Audacity" and there you go!

- Use MSi Afterburner to record your games. It's the best recording program I know of. If you have a shitty PC, which you said you have, use it. Set the resolution to 720p, or if that lags, set it to like 480p. 30FPS, and 2 threads (That's probably best).

That's basically it. Oh, and an editing program. I recommend Sony Vegas 11. Simple, yet effective.

Hope this helps. :>

Thanks guys! I didn't know I'd get so much help!

I've already started using DXtory for Minecraft, and I'll definitely use that Audiciaty to help with my shitty mike.

Thanks again for the help!

Since you're already talking about dxtory, and I don't want to make a new thread I'll make it here.

When I'm recording for example in minecraft, I can get a smooth 200 fps when recording. But when I play the recorded video, it's really laggy & only 20-15 FPS.

Note: I can record with fraps in IW4M & BF3, but NOT in minecraft. (It lags then.)

Any help?

Get a secondary HDD drive and record it there. MC is a hog on basically everything. Even HDD's. For ex: Run WIndows n' stuff on Disk A and save your videos to disk B. Also, make sure all disks are running at at least 7200RPM.
