Ouh, it seems that demo recording is fully fixed? (just need some /timescale adjustments. :D)

 

 

steps how I did it:

 

1. /record to start demo and /stoprecord to stop it

2. /devmap mp_afghan

3. /killserver

4. /demo demo_file_name

5. The game will be in slowmotion. I adjusted it with /timescale. /timescale 1.025 works fine for me :D

Damn :/ The last time i checked demo recording it only worked on DLC Maps. So I thought he fixed it with this release. :D

 

No, it was fixed in one of the updates for iw4m2 (pre-release)

 

If you're interested in demo's I'd advise making "demofixes"

 

/devmap mp_mapname

/record demofix_mapname

wait 1-5 mins

/stoprecord

 

Some demo's have a bug where they won't play so to fix this you do:

 

E.G on rust

/demo demofix_rust

(wait until it loads)

/demo yourdemo

 

Then it plays it over the top with no problems except the timescale.

 

If you want smooth recording like me, devmap mp_rust;disconnect (turns sv_cheats on for demo's only, not public ;)) )

 

Then do the same as above, timescale 0.1 and record with the highest fps you can that you can keep constant, for me it's around 30. Then you speed the footage up 10x in vdub so I'd put the fps at 300. Note the more fps you record with the higher the file size. You can also use a movie.cfg to make the maps nicer and custom skins (I used custom skies and grass)

Hello Guys, i started Recording earlier today using /record i recorded a total of 8 demos, none of them good, so i deleted them all, 0-8. Now when i use /record in game and then use /stoprecord they don't save in the demos folder like the previous ones did before i deleted them, can anyone help?<3

when i open demos it said TheMightyOreo renamed to [random name here] and it doesnt start

it works sometimes

this happens even tho i have open it correctly

/demo demofix_brecourt [if wasteland demo]

wait for abit then /disconnect

then /devmap mp_rust;disconnect

then /demo demofix_brecourt and in that demo i do /demo [clip name]

 

as i said, it works sometimes so i dunno whats up. do i have to wait a certain time in the demofix before disconnecting or opening the clip? is there a way to solve the renaming issue?

 

and i have a skidrow [nightshift] demo which just makes my game crash when i try to open it, help with that?

EDIT: can u copy the ingame console somehow? like in cod4, /logfile 1
