I've used Dxtory it's great especially for live comms,but using fraps for just a little fps i get more space on my HDD and more recording time.

Large fps drop? just... no.

- Dxtory doesn't record in 1080p (not all PC's can handle that)

- No FPS cap when playing (for example; 30FPS recording, 120FPS playing)

- Custom codecs.

- (Better) Multithreading support

- Record to multiple harddrives.

- Video output (sees it as a webcam) for livestreaming/Skype etc.

 

So, Dxtory is just better.

Exactly, I remember when I first tried Dxtory, I didn't change any settings, just started recording on default and as I can say it was set on the highest quality.

I couldn't even say I was recording, from about 180FPS my game went to 160-170 "Blacklight: Retribution".

nice tutorial but not the technology is moved forward so we need more easy tools.. and off-course it can not record the 1080p as well..
