The correct way of using ''greentext''.

The correct way of using ''greentext''.

A guide on how to use ''greentext''.

What is it and what does it stand for?

Greentext is a form of quoting that's mainly used on 4chan-like imageboards, it can be used to quote someone, tell stories, express certain emotions and many other things. Here are a few examples:

A greentext story.

A quote.

You've probably noticed the use of the ''>'', this is the quote-mark.

What's the problem with it?

Lately, greentexting has been appearing more outside of the 4chan-like imageboards and it's often used in an improper and incorrect way. This is simply because most people do not know what the ''>'' means. This often results in unfunny greentexts and could make the user look like he/she is trying to be funny by using things he/she does not even know what it's meaning.

The correct way of using greentext.

The correct way of using greentext is by quoting someone or telling a story.

Quoting:

Microsoft is a great company.

>Microsoft is a great company

HAHAHAHA, oh wow.

Implications (a different way of quoting):

Microsoft is a great company.

>implying microsoft is a great company

Enjoy your limited freedom.

Storytelling:

>girl in class asks if she could use my laptop

>hand it over

>sees my anime wallpaper

>spaghetti falls out of my pocket

>try to clean it up

>there's fur in the spaghetti

>realise I'm a bear

Greentexting ''that feel''.

rLeNvs.png

''that feel'' is a meme that originated from the /int/ board on Krautchan with the sentence ''that feel when no gf.'' for a person from Poland.

People on 4chan often use ''>that feel'' and/or ''>tfw'', this is not the way the ''that feel''-meme is supposed to be used.

The correct way of using ''that feel'':

That feel when you're taking a shit on a toilet and some shitwater comes back up.

Improper use of ''that feel'':

>that feel when you're taking a shit on a toilet and some shitwater comes back up

>tfw you're taking a shit on a toilet and some shitwater comes back up

[removed the joke because people actually took it serious]
