I have just installed the files for online play. When i start the multiplayer file from the start menu, the game crashes after a few seconds. I'm still able to hear the background tone of the game but there is no visual.

Post your console_mp.log, you will find it in /modern warfare 2/m2demo/.

Download iw_22.iwd and iw_23.iwd from here. Put them in /modern warfare 2/main/ and overwrite your current iw_22.iwd/iw_23.iwd (if you have them).
