Hey guys,

So a few days ago I was running an arev server with b3. Recently I made a new one on 4D1 and deleted the arev. The thing is, I'm running the same b3 with the new server and this is where it all gets messed up.

Everything is alright except for one thing: I lost my admin rights on the server. All the other admins didn't but I did. I could recover it but I can't join the server with my arev client. I have put "z_svr_" infront of the mod name and set sv_master2 "master.alterrev.net" in the server.cfg file. I asked a friend of mine to join the server with his arev client and he gets the same error. So the main problem is that no one who has arev can connect to my server. I would be very grateful if you could help me out.

There are several resons to use 4D1 client (browse the forum to see what you can do with 4D1 client and server). And there's only 1 reason to keep with arev client (if you were planning on cheating).

So, your question sounds like "how can I have a server with all of 4D1's modding features, custom maps support, etc, but keep cheating while playing in it?"

If that's not the case, just do as aabir posted above.

Also, make sure that you move the log file path from "main" to "m2demo" folder on b3.xml (if you're not running a mod, otherwise it will still be the mod's folder).

As I mentioned in my topic, the only reason I want to be able to connect to my server with arev is to recover my admin rights (sucks not to be an admin on your own server right?). After that, I will delete arev. So can you help me?

By the way, the error I'm getting while connecting to the server is mods/blahblah is different from the server. I tried deleting the mod from the arev client folder but it still doesn't work. Please help :S

Ok, now I got it... sorry.

You don't rename the mod. You rename the IWD/s inside the mod (on the server installation).

Example:

C:\MW2server\mods\promod\z_svr_promod.iwd

And any other IWD that you might have inside the mod folder.

As for the admin rights, you just have to move the permissions to your new ID (arev and 4D1 clients have different client IDs on B3 database).

Yes I have done that. There's only 1 IWD file and its name is z_svr_iSnipe.iwd

Then you'll be able to connect just fine with 4D1 client. Remember that arev client is an older build of NTAuthority's MW2 client and does not support all modding features of IW4M. That's probably why you have an error with arev client. Outdated way of handling gsc on the client.

Now just move the permissions to your 4D1 id on the server's B3 database and you're in the 21st century :P

Where can I edit the b3 database?

Also, When I try to connect to PHPMyAdmin with wamp server the browser doesn't load anything...

The problem with your webserver is something that you'll have to fix yourself...

Just make sure that phpmyadmin folder is in the path where you're trying to load it from. Try deleting phpmyadmin folder, download and put there a newer version.

I use IIS, already used apache, but never tried wamp package. I believe that php comes with wamp. Make sure that php is functional.

After you get access to your b3 database, go to "clients", search your 4D1 ID there and change the "group_bits" (wich should be 0) to 128. Then restart B3 and you should be superadmin again on your server.

Just extract the .iwd and put the extracted contents into a folder what you want the mod name to be. Then run the server and arev clients should be able to join, i would just recommend you to tell people to just use the 4D1 client.

I will repeat this once again, the ONLY reason I want to do that is to get my admin rights back. If the method ASiM mentioned above works and I get my admin back I will compress the mod files into one IWD file again and I will be using the 4D1 client. It's been a along time since I realized how superior 4D1 is compared to aRev. Btw Asim I love you <3333
