mods and private match help?

so, me and my friend were trying to play a private match with a bot mod. every time i tried to join him it tried to download the mod from him then gave me an error. i tried downloading the mod myself and joining, now i get an error that says my mod is not the same as his, but it is the same exact one. can i has help :) ?

    i cant tell you right now (not on home pc)

    but i think it says my mod directory then the mod name and says it does not match server mod.

    ill post it when i can
