I was playing and I didn't want to close the game, come to the forum, change nicknae from UCP, change my login credentials and reopen the game (where I surely will have found my stats reset as always) so I changed my name with HeX Editor, I joined a server and I had Steam Autorizathion Failed (or something similar), so I closed the game, I re-opened it and I discovered I was banned for 5 days.

So, did I really do something so bad? I changed my name from "Cencio" to "Cencho." and I get banned for 5 days reason @40002...

Also, hex editing something you could change in two seconds by going to a website? The fuck?

It's not even that big of a deal. Would literally take 1-2 minutes.

If you change name by UCP you have to close the game and, as always, I would have lose all my stats (which won't save...). So I had to close the game, change my name, change my login credentials, reopen the game with stats reset and restart all... open HeX put offset change name, 5 seconds, much faster, your stats still there...

So recapitulating: I was banned yesterday for no reason. Until I was banned I wasn't banned because I was playing, then I was banned again for changing my name.

When there wasn't UCP setting to change my name I used hexeditor sometimes and I had no problems. :shock:

aCI works off the code. If it finds any code that is changed at all it will detect it as a hack. It might not have been developed to the stage to ban you then. Lucky....

Very simple don't mess with iw5m (you probably aren't changing your name but the post above me kinda gives it away).

Change your name in your UCP and stop MESSING WITH THE CODE .

Sure, it's much safer and faster to open the hex editor, find the string, modify it and keep going than logging here, change the name and restart the game... "right!?"

Wich makes me wonder... you gave yourself the work to hex the client just to change your name when you could have easilly and safelly done it here on the UCP ?

Did you ever consider that by modifying the dll while in use you were actually injecting new info into the code?
