Hey everybody,

I got a problem in IW5M.

On Single Player i run maxed out gameplay on 60 fps easily.

On multiplayer i run 30 fps on maxed out gameplay somehow.

And it seems to me that SP takes more fps then multiplayer would?

I run also BF3 on low with 50-60 fps...

I can run Blops maxed out 60 fps easily and that got better engine.

Please help me :)

my specs:

i7-3610QM @ 2,3GHz, 6GB ram, NVidia GeForce GT650M 2GB.

And yes i run on high performance on my laptop!

set priority to normal

screen resolution max

all special things like shadows off.

set the automatic setting to manual (last setting in graphics)

and set the settings like this:

1st one: High

2nd one: Medium

3rd one: Low

this wil boost your framerate by 15 fps

It's an NVIDIA Optimus laptop, right?

SP uses an .exe, so the drivers recognize it and switch to the NVIDIA GPU when it starts up. IW5M uses a .dat file for various reasons, so auto-select doesn't work.

Go into NVIDIA Control Panel and find "Manage 3D Settings." (Stay in the "Global Settings" tab, you can't set a Program Settings profile for this executable.) Right at the top you'll see a drop down for "Preferred graphics processor." Select "High-performance NVIDIA processor" and it should run properly.

I have the same issue despite my rather good config. However I've noticed that I had lot more fps on teknomw3 than on IW5M, same for IW4M. I dont know if it has anything to do with fourdeltaone's files (doubt it tho).

Edit: @Jim tekno uses .dat too and it still gives me like 40 more fps than in IW5M, plus my .cfg is optimized in both versions.

When Tekno runs, look in your Task Manager and see what is actually running. iw5mp.exe is the process for Tekno. Auto-select recognizes that as:

A: An executable for a known application.

B: A 3d application that needs the NVIDIA GPU to kick in.

It doesn't recognize iw5mp.dat as either of those, so it tries running IW5M with the Intel low-power GPU.

Have you tried my suggestion at all?

I'm asking because I KNOW it works. I've done it. I have an Optimus laptop with a GT540M, and I had this exact same problem and FPS disparity between Tekno and IW5M. Mine's fixed and I can play just fine doing exactly what I said.

Any fixes I suggest on these forums are things that I've personally had problems with and fixed myself.

Thanks alot it worked! Do i have to keep up the settings tab? Or can i simply apply the settings from that window and close it and it will be forever okay?

Sorry for the offtopic but I see you guys pretty smart on that stuff so I need to ask you.

Is there any way to lower detail of explosion, smoke after predator missile, Osprey, AC130?

I got a stable 91 FPS but it drops to 30 or even lower ... sometimes seems like my PC gonna explode lol

Ah and.. sorry for my poor english

It isn't something I know off the top of my head (and I'm not at my home PC), but I have a guess based on when it happens to you.

Look in your in-game settings for two things:

Soften Smoke Edges

and

Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (or SSAO, I can't remember)

Change both of those to Off and see if that works.

If not, make a new thread and either someone else will figure it out or I'll know to look into it when I get home.

Thanks for reply. The settings already turned to "Off"
