See im running a HD 3000 setup on the laptop im posing this on, and i get the DX Crash when i Alt+tab out while ingame (in the 3D environment) but that was also a issue i suffered on IW4M2 in the old AlterIWnet days. I also had this issue with the HD 3000, HD 5670, HD 5770, HD 6850 and HD 6870. This is a game issue since the old AlterIWnet days. I dont think NTA plans on fixing this anytime soon neither. Just dont alt + tab out or minimise the game ingame. Use the steam overlay instead :3 Blewk

You say loud, exactly how beefy is your sound system, could it be so powerfull to shake the cable just enough to "unplug" it? a.k.a dodgy connector, Since the speaker tends to be linked to the pc via that cable the loud vibrations could cause this?..

does it do it when your trying to get back into the game (not in lobby in the acctually 3d rendering of the game) after alt+tabing out e.g.?

False, the HD3000 is the graphics section built into Intel Sandy Bridge processor (Integrated graphics). It isn't even a full graphics card by itself, and should NEVER be used to run modern games if you are looking for a playable resolution and framerate. I'm pretty sure OP's laptop has a dedicated graphics card since he claims he had 50-60 FPS on MW2 at alterIW. Right, issue is. My HD 3000 with the tweaked config ive writen will play 60 FPS smoothly maybe a drop to 40~ on the middle of scrapyard... So yeah im USING it to play modern games. And it does the job nicely thats with textures around high high normal. no AA ^Able to run BF3 on that? And what resolution are you running MW2 on? Nope just the HD3000, and no the physics side of BF3 destroys the laptop :3 and 1366 x 768
