i deleted those two files, but it didnt help any. i'm still haunted by not being able to run. something appears to be different. i remember being able to run and bump into another player and my character would still bounce up and down running. now when i run into another teammate the character stops running. this doesnt happen when me and the teammate are both running. but if i try to run and i bump into a teammate before i take more than a few steps, the game forces the run to stop. more annoying.. i didnt see the game update itself before the problem started. it just started happening the other night and there hasnt been an update. i got an update yesterday, but i dont know if it was the game updating or because i deleted those two files.

this is a retail version of the game. it came from DVD that i pull out of the plastic case. was using it with steam, but the steam version forces me to play the same map over and over and over again while ignoring other maps (simply one of the reasons why i switched to an alternative). i really havent the slightest clue what an arev version of the client is.

i press shift to run forward and i take about three steps running, then for some unknown reason the game decides to make me walk. i havent changed anything on my computer, but this recently started happening. i went into the controls and re-binded shift for the 'sprint or hold breath' command, but it didnt fix or help. really criminal since i get all pumped up with endorphines when i press the run button, only to get a big fat stall or stop forcibly put onto me. i've seen the same exact thing happen when i was using steam with the retail version of the game, but it didnt happen anywhere close as often. then it was like once a month or once every three months. now it does it almost every single time, especially for the first time i press run.. and then it eventually lets me go after two or three presses, but it always comes back halting me. what reason to take my input away from me? do you think it is funny to give people a heart attack or a stroke or play with their brain's processing power? do you think the video game is really entertaining enough to provide room for such thing? tonight before i posted this, i read a thread about staff replying to people about cheaters and cheating.. something about turning off legacy servers (or filtering them out). will this fix the run problem too? all three times i've found my run button being taken away from me, i was on a server that didnt show anything special listed for the gametype. each one simply said 'team deathmatch' .. whatever the default spelling is. i was running the lag-o-meter and no spikes show up whenever my run button stops working. i dont have any problems with the shift button on the keyboard, as i can see that while typing out this post. i dont know where society thinks there is a place to refill fire protection before roasting other people, but it looks like another instance where people dont care to look to see how much protection is there first before they run off and roast somebody with unlogical and|or irrational action.

my thread gets hijacked, the hijacker gets an answer, and i'm still clueless and unable to play the game without torment from game crashes.

the two dump files i received last night are below. my computer is running windows 7 home premium 64bit

ah. i didnt see 'em because there were up on top. i thought they would be alphabetical. anyways, it doesnt look like there is any place to attach the file here. what place is easy for temporary file hosting?

the game has crashed three times in the last 20 minutes. once was a total black screen, couldnt find an error message. second time it said a dump was reported, but i cant find the dump file. the third time it didnt crash the game but it said 'steam connect failed' i played the game a few nights ago without any crashes. havent changed anything since. where do i find the log file to post it here?
