I was thinking of creating a copy of the folder and installing IW4M + the DLC into that, while keeping my original install intact. I had a few questions if anyone could answer them: 1. Has anyone ever been banned from Steam for playing on dedicated servers through IW4M? 2. Since I have a Steam copy of MW2, it seems like Steam would need to be running in order for me to play. I've noticed that even if I run games from a folder outside the steamapps directory, it still tracks the hours in the main steam client and allows me to access the overlay in-game. That being said, would creating a copy of my MW2 folder still put me at any risk? 3. Based on what I know about Steam, I assume that they'll only ban you if you try to connect to a VAC enabled server with a modded client, and they don't actively scan your game directories for mods. As long as i don't play through their official matchmaking service (which I can't use anyways owing to my location), I should be fine, right? Can anyone confirm/deny my assumptions?
