so i wont get banned even if i start it with steam online? then, why there are too many posts when users said they got banned?

I have the game installed in the desktop in a folder named "Modern Warfare 2" as shown in the pic http://imageshack.us/f/7/capturawy.png/ When i start the game i get this in the task manager. http://imageshack.us/f/98/taskmanagerz.png/ and the adress from the shortcut i start the game is C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\IW4M\LaunchIW4M.exe i think that the problem is because this starts in C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\IW4M and maybe makes troubles with steam when its on.

How could i join a steam based vac secured server with IW4M? i read that you need a legit CoD: Modern Warfare 2 (Steam) to play, sorry but i dont understand anything and i really want to play. Sorry for double posting.

I installed 4d1 in the desktop when i have the multiplayer data. its not in steamapps but it still start like the legit game.

Hi, i just installed 4d1 but i noticed it started like the legit mw2, (i bought it but i don't have it installed) So i didn't joined any server and closed the game, i wont start it again cus i read that some ppl got banned for using this on steam. I don't use any kind of hack or mods. If i didn't joined any server, Can i get VAC banned? i know that if i get banned you guys cant do anything but i just want an answer to this. I don't want people writing comments like ''who the hell cares 4d1 is better than steam version'' be serious.
