Problem with Graphic cards supporting optimus

Опубликовано:

When I first played IW5M, I felt lag ( as compared to teknomw3 ). I reduced the game resolution ( I generally play at 1366 x 768 ) to the lowest possible. I still felt lag.

I run the game as `Run as Admin`, then I tried running the game with option `Run with graphics processor > use high performance NVIDIA processor` ( I guess you get this option only if you have optimus, if you don't have optimus then by default all applications will run on your graphics card ). This time I played on highest resolution with no lag at all.

So simply I added this game to NVIDIA programs ( so that it will use graphics card always ), then I found in IW5M we don't have .exe but we have .dat file ( iw5m.dat ). And here comes the problem, even after adding this .dat to NVIDIA managed programs it never uses graphic card by default. I have to manually run the game with graphics processor for no lag.

Is it possible to convert this .dat file to .exe?

No, you can't convert the file to an .exe.

Just change your preferred graphics processor in global settings to always use "High-performance NVIDIA processor."

Problem solved. It'll increase battery consumption, though. So turn it back to auto-select if you're going to unplug your laptop.
