As the title says, I'm trying to get into modding and all but don't really know where to start.

After looking at some files, I decided I'd make a simple weapon damage modifier myself but I have no idea where to look.

The weapon I'm trying to modify is the Intervention, I even found it in the raw files ( from here ).

Found Cheytac_mp and other things, but as of right now, it's chinese to me but there's no numerical data there, just words.

I just started off by editing other mods, like Retarded Smart Enemies, just changing a couple of values here and there. (: and then when you understand what you're changing start making your own simple mods, that's as much help as I can give you. (:

I too started the same way from changing things using the others mods until I realized that I was also learning how to actually write scripts by myself. But before this I was actually watching some tutorials of programming basics. Because of it It was so easy for me to understand what's the purpose of the scripts written by the modders in their mod files.
