It seems I've been having issue connecting to my own Ad Hoc. Everybody else connects just fine, but when I connects to it, the network will be unidentified. At first I thought this wouldn't affect my connections to other laptops but when a friend of mine started a MW2 server(those old aIW files), I couldn't connect to it.

 

Is there something wrong with my network adapter? I tried Googling, didn't help so well.

Any new network is 'unidentified' unless it has a SSID or some other reason to have a name assigned to it. In addition, this should not affect any outgoing connectivity.

 

Also, 'connecting to my own' - I thought a non-infrastructure 802.11 network generally is only set up between 2 systems, and the 'host' is automatically 'connected' to it.
