Please help, I have an rcon connection problem. It says, oops no response. I have tried many different rcon addresses and ports, but none work. The server itself it working just fine, it's just the b3 that is bad.

You should have posted the content of b3.log. Just by looking at that, I can think of 3 possible causes:

1. you aren't using cod8.py parser (either not on parsers folder or not selected on b3.xml)

2. you're using localhost (127.0.0.1) instead of the internal IP (192.168.x.x)

3. you're pointing at the wrong port. Look at the server's console at startup and see what's the query port being used.

 

If none of these work, post here the content of b3.log

Yes, i have an internal static ip that is for both the rcon and public ips

Chances are that the cod8 "support" it has is for the Steam version, not IW5M, which requires the latest python/source version and the cod8.py file included with the dedicated server files.

Your "rcon_password" in your B3.xml is empty. (Actually, it has an "empty space" char)

Setup any rcon password you want to use in your server's config file and then add that paswword correctly in your B3.xml file.

It should look like this:

Try to set a non blank password as that's most likely what might be causing the problem.

Yes, but did you use the cod8.py that is included with the dedicated server files, not a version being distributed at the B3 website?

yes, i got it from the admins folder. I got the dedi server files from steam, is this a problem? i used the dsut tool though

See if you got any server config file on players2 folder.

Maybe it's loading a rcon password from a config file stored there.

Let's be objective. Since B3 is not working for you there's clearly something failing or something from the tutorial done wrong.

Please start from scratch and create different folders for both the new dev version of executable B3 you're trying, and for the latest stable source version release.

 

Set them up, and paste both the logs of each version on code boxes. Taggin each so that we know the difference.

 

And we'll try to help you out.
