how to use connect ip its not working now

Are you sure you are connecting to a dedicated server? Are you sure the IP and port are correct?

Are you sure its not a PRIVATE MATCH ip? also, are you providing it with a port?

Is that server normally accessible to other people? Also, check if you can join other servers with the connect command.

Is the server even up ? Or are you sure the server is IW5M and not on Steam.

Same problem here.

I rent my own server and sinds last 2 weeks i switch to 4d1 (best switch i made) but the connection true ip in the remote console is not working.

I had 16+2 but i switch to 18 because the 2 i can not connect to if the server is on 16 players.

 

Now i use rcontool to make room

check and make sure your net_queryPort hasn't change.

But the funny part is also that "on the other system" there was always a password question if you want to join a server with reserved slots but here not ????

I talk to my host and ask and he say that my net_queryPort is -1

So if you port is 28960 then the net_queryPort is 28959

 

open console with ~ key

Now to connect you have to type:

connect xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:net_queryPort; password ..?..?..?

 

Complete example:

Ip= 123.321.123.321

port=28960

password=letmein

 

connect 123.321.123.321:28959; password letmein

This is a nice trick that works.

 

Make in notepad the complete line what you need to login if the server is full and you have 2 slots on reserve like this:

sample:

connect 123.321.123.321:28959; password letmein

 

Now save that to your desktop

If now the server is fill and you are in the game press Alt+Esc and you are in your desktop.

Copy the line from your notepad and go back to your game

now press the tilde key ~ and press Ctrl+v and the complete line is there and you dont need to type.

 

I do it b4 i startup the game and past it direct in the console line

 

On this way i have made my own favourite server list
