I think it changes background on steam version of game. Bcz i have it and it changed steam background.

It's because the .exe detects if it's in your Steam destination folder then it asks for you to locate it if it can't find it

Move your IW5 folder -your Steam version- out of it's initial area and then re run the exe it will say it can't find your game folder so put it onto your IW5M folder.
