I was reading some posts about demo recording and I thought about a theater mode for mw2.

I wanted to ask you (and maybe the admins) if such thing is planned for a future release or if it is even possible anyways.

And please excuse if such a topic already exists, I didn't check the whole forum and the search function is totally broken for me.

Arent theater records in mw3/blackops the same as demo records?

I think just a ingame demo player would be fine. (with gui)

A Theater Mode like in MW3/BO is pretty unlikey as it requires a "different" method of recording which does not exist in MW2 afaik.

Yeah I thought it would never be as extensive as the MW3/BO one anyways. I was more talking of like a very simple one, with basic functions like play, rename, delete and maybe change the time scale of the record and the function to activate automatical record for every gameplay or something like this...

Demos are the exact same thing as Theater Mode. Theater Mode is a gimped version of demo recording, in my opinion.

To me it would seem to require some exceptionally complex coding, but I'm sure if NTA really wanted to he could.

This has been considered, when we had alterIW.

that was a crash i just got

You use demo fixes to play a demo over a demo since many demo's freeze and this fixes the issue. For the error he's having you can play your demo first, then the demofix then your demo over the top of that and it should work. If not the demo's broken. Demo's are working fairly well, it's just the timescale bug which is an issue. Other than that the only thing needed is cl_avidemo but since that isn't going to happen, we're stuck with fraps/dxtory @ 0.1 timescale :3 Oh and a demofix is just a normal demo, so if you have 2 demo's on the same map you can just play one and then the second over it and vise versa..
