So, since you are making maps for MP by taking them from Spec Ops, will you be able to create maps by yourself?

 

A nice one would be one themed school. Broken walls, windows, you can get on roof, basically a conquered kind of School.

 

Or could you try and take either CoD4 maps or maybe even MW3 maps?

Making our own maps is not possible because mod tools were never released. Using maps from cod 4 or mw3 is not possible bacause of the different structures of the map(you can change version of ff files in hex editor but the structure is different so you will get an error). requesting /lock.

Don't do that. Ever. People don't take kindly to backseating.

 

OP: Nope. Creating maps out of scratch is impossible, since, as TheMatrix said, there were never really any proper tools for their creation released into the public. The best that can be done is repurposing SP and SpecOps maps to the multiplayer. Nothing more than that, though.

If you guys don't recall, at least with this idea, there WAS a school building in the Singleplayer Campaign. So, yes, it would be possible most likely to port it, I'm not sure if there's a difference though between porting singleplayer and multiplayer. Also, I believe the full map for that mission is gigantic. Hope fully there will be a way to increase player counts.

really? tell me the name of the mission... im currently working on one singleplayer map, porting just one cool part of it to mp :) it will be done in a few days..

there are coders who can code their own mod tools based on the cod4/cod5 mod tools.

the 3d modeler for gta IV was coded by a 3rd party guy, who simply decoded the newer generation model files, and adapated his tools to that.

 

it is possible, but very complex
