but destroying killstreaks doesnt increase your gun streak count. You would have to use stinger to kill people - simplest when they have an assault/recon drone

Destroying killstreaks and capturing DOM points do increase your point streak, I'm pretty sure. I've gotten a MOAB with well under 20 kills before, and I know I didn't capture more than 5 points. I shot down a few UAVs with a rifle, though. I think my lowest was 15 kills for a MOAB, and that round I shot down 3 UAVs, a CUAV, and an attack helicopter. None were with a Stinger, but it shouldn't matter that much.

I stand corrected. I just counted up all of them in theater and the UAV/Choppers/DOM points counted towards specialist streaks and getting the specialist bonus, but not the MOAB. Only the kills + assists counted for the actual MOAB kill streak.
