Ok, I was just removing this BS virus from my computer, but first, I decided to have fun, and do a virus scan on it.

THIS IS WHAT CAME UP

5mix46.jpg

It was called bsautt.exe or something like that, but had a hidden .dll attached to it.

It was being launched upon logon in of the infected account, disabling Task Manager.

It launched the virus within 2.3 seconds of logging in, giving me VERY little time to open Task Manager and stop the process, then I had to delete the virus's program and callings from the computer.

This is what the virus looked like

Why can't you take a screenshot ._. ?

I hadn't thought of it at the time, I was recording the virus for future notices to myself, as this is the second time this virus, although in a different form, has appeared, due to a misclicked link, and a self installing program upon clicking that link, or perhaps I downloaded something with it attached to it? I'm not sure. But I recorded my procress of removing it so if it ever happens again, I can remove it with ease. The photos were taken from a video.

I guess he couldn't open any programms with the virus screen on, as the virus blocks the taskmanager/ uses 'alternative' explorer.exe.

@Arctix: Just wondering, which antivirus software are you running?

Exactly. So I didn't exactly have "time" to take a screenshot, so after recording, I had the idea to get my screenies from there instead.

EDIT: Sec lemme go see what version >_>

EDIT: AVG Anti-Virus 2013, and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (take FOREVER to scan stuff, so I only use it once ever few weeks or so.)

Both, in my opinion, do a shi**y job. Well, Malwarebytes is OK....but..ya know..

Oh, and the first time I got this virus, (fyi this virus is known as the "Moneypak FBI Virus"), it was saying if you don't pay $200 within 72 hours using a GreenDot card, you're computer will be locked forever....

WHY THE FK WOULD THE FBI NEED $200??

That screamed out scam, virus, etcetera the second I saw it XD

Edit: oh wait, this one asks for 200 also :P

..

WHY THE FK WOULD THE FBI NEED $200??

I wonder how many idiots really paid it.

I was looking around on google, the first time I encountered this virus, and there was a good number of people who had actually paid the $200, which is stupid, Just reading the damn thing is enough to know it's fake.

I saw a picture of one, also the moneypak virus, but a third version of it, that instead of paying using a GreenDot card, it asked for Gaming cards, such as Xbox Membership cards and stuff. That made me LOL.

fbi needs to get there LIVE from somewhere lol

if the fbi really needed money from you....i think they would just take it....not demand it through your computer :|

Now you see why I always tell people to unninstall AVG...

How do you guys even get such viruses? ._.

In last 3 years, I encountered like 2-3 trojans only.

This.

I've only encountered one virus in the last 5 years or so, it's not like I don't visit any shady websites or am extremely careful when it comes to clicking links..

Also, why are so many people surprised by the fact some people actually did pay? If someone who doesn't understand anything about computers and just uses them to email and surf the web sees this they'll probably pay if they don't have someone that knows a little about computers to advise them.

Some common sense should be enough to realize, that it's a fake...

Why would the FBI want to get moneypak/ukash/paysafe cards, instead of showing a banking account where you have to transfer the money to? Also, why would the FBI threat to arrest someone with such a 'pop-up' screen, instead of sending an official letter?

Moreover most of those 'on screen descriptions' are full of spelling errors/grammar mistakes (at least the non-english ones), so you should become suspicious.
