First of all im not complaining about the service or anything, ive got the game on steam i can play when i want, i just want to express my opinion.

I know this game was harder to emulate than for example was COD2 and cod4 and i really appreciate all the work, but i dont like the idea of having all those checks, the auth server, the NP server and those, since the NP is for whatever reason very often down, i wonder are they all neccesery?

The game would be a lot more active/played, much less problems would occur and also there would be not so much pressure and spam threads about failing to play, or at least if the NP server was excluded and the login/auth left, since i never saw the login server to fail.

I see you included now np server even for dedicated servers in r113, sucks..

And how would you identify a favorite server, if the server doesn't have an ID?

IPs change all the time on home-based servers.

Although I agree with

// TODO: offer offline mode in this case/with an offline gameflag
        Com_Error(1, "Could not connect to NP server at " NP_SERVER);
        return false;
