2. you have to press 3 times to turn off your PC in addition to put your mouse to the top right or press windows + c before that. fucking 2 valuable seconds lost right there, and even more seconds trying to get out of the start menu or whatever app you're most likely using. OH ALL THE SECONDS LOST JUST TO TURN OFF YOUR PC. baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad

Not really. I don't find problems with an adjusted start menu like Start8 from Stardock or any conversion tool to get rid of metro.

so is windows 8 actually faster than 7......

i personally dont have it yet cause im lazy, but if i end up getting new computer parts(cpu, ram, mobo) i would do a clean install.....so would it be worth it(performance) to just install windows 8 or stay with windows 7

(why is this in games lol)

if you lost seconds its your problem, in win7 you should place your mouse bottom left and click it for start menu then small arrow and shutdown (i was using hibernate as default. which is i usually using.) 2 clicks in default. in win8 its3 and if you cant do this your iq<60...

also im using windows logo then shutdown -s everything is faster than if you use keyboard.

still have issues about shutdown? right click desktop hover on new and select shortcut then type shutdown -s -t 0 press enter 2-3 times. double click that and see how moron you are...

ps. how i feel after typing shutdown -s and hitting enter.

On a fresh Windows 7 installation with no changes shutting down the computer takes 2 clicks.

You guys don't get the point. Windows 8, an operating system that took 3 years to develop by the most experienced company on dekstop operating systems, costing more than a hundred bucks (137,71 euros is the cheapest I found in my country) and we get what? The innovative Metro UI, where the programs are all full screen only and have the same boring metro style. Yeah, that's innovation, right there. But good guy gates(I know he might not have taken part into this but I just felt like saying it ^_^) also gave us the old desktop back. Yeah, now we're happy. Oh wait, nop, no we're not. Something's missing. Yeeeaaaaaah, the start (gates removes his good guy mask and his scumbag face is revealed). In the end Windows 8 is Windows 7 filled with useless crap, removed start and better loading time(no wonder it's the most advertised feature of it). Performance-wise they're mostly the same.

Anyway, you get the point. Windows 8 sucks. If you disagree at least give a reason why. 'This can easily be fixed', and 'that can easily be fixed too' are not valid reasons, unless Windows 8 has something that good, that is worth fixing what is not broken on its predecessor.

Most people don't even shut their pc's off these days.

My only reason not to get Windows 8: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012- ... atastrophe

the only reason he ever claimed that was because of the WinRT platform not being sideloading-capable, as he has his own competing store/platform. it's not as if you're forced to use WinRT applications, either; and 'your only reason' would only be valid if you were a software developer or had your own platform receiving competition from the WinStore.

as to the other points in this topic, I can't be bothered responding to all of them again, although all of them have been countered already.
