Hey guys. I've recently been playing 70 hours of GTA IV, and since I'm getting a new GPU in 3 weeks I'm wondering if there's any chance to save the saved games?

Because I don't want to re-install windows fresh and lose all my hours of playing, that would be a waste.

Why would you have to re-install windows? It's just a GPU....

look through %localappdata%

they're linked to your GfWL XUID however; if you're using an offline profile you'll not be able to retain them across user profiles.

your application data is probably hidden, so do what NTA said...type %localappdata% in windows search and it should take you to the folder

Found this on some forum :

 

GTA 4 saved game is located in:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\savegames\user_#

 

If you are going to back up your game just copy all the "user_#" folder.

After installing the OS and the game:

 

Sing-in to your account and start a new game.

Skip the intro of the first mission and then exit the game.

Go to the path above and it should be 2 folders the "user_invalid" and "user_#"

Open the "user_#" folder and paste your "SGTA4#" file.

 

Now launch the game and it should load your previous saved game.

Doesn't Steam autosave your stats? I hadnt played MW2 for like 1 year but when I came back on Steam all my classes, guns, custom stuff + levels were still there.

For non-SteamAPI games? Why would you think so?
