I know this post could be annoying, but i keep getting the Directx unrecoverable error when a server changes map... it doesn't happens all the times, but quite often. I've already tried to update directx and video drivers, but nothing changed. I also tried to run the game with texure settings LOW-LOW-LOW, but still getting the error. If there is a solution, good, tell me. If not yet, I'll just wait.

do you have any mods installed?

 

have you tried setting your game to borderless windowed?(could help)

 

r_noborder 1; vid_xpos 0; vid_ypos 0; vid_restart; <--just type that into the in-game console that should work....

I'm not sure how this is going to help you, but I had the similar problem and have been gone through all possible solutions but still encountered this error.

However it seems to have completely disappeared after I installed the DirectX which came with "Serious Sam 3". I'm not a technichian so I don't really know the cause of this or even if it was because I installed that but I didn't had any DirectX errors after.

 

It's also possible that I don't have the error anymore because now I'm on 64-bit Win7 but I'm not too sure about it.

Oh, i have a 32-bit win 7, but never encountered this error with the old aIWnet, so don't know... Where can i download the Directx u mentioned?

Well as I said it came with the installation of "Serious Sam 3" so I don't know which release of DirectX it is. My theory is that old DirectX versions install some files that aren't nesessary in the new ones and aren't encluded. But since the engine is so super modern it could require some of the old files sometimes. Nevertheless I could upload the installer from the Serious Sam 3 direction if you want.

Didin't work... any ideas?? It's not the error itself that ruins the game, but when it occours i lose all my stats...

the only thing DirectX redistributables 'help' is applications not launching due to DLL dependency issues, primarily d3dx*

So NT... the error it's not directx's fault? So what i nave to do?
