My laptop was just hit by the reveton virus. I got the virus to stop locking my computer now I'm having problem of my laptop being really slow. I have a slow time browsing the internet. Also my cpu keep being eaten by some process o or processes that I don't know of.

Is there a way so I can remove this virus?

Is it showing your RAM is 85% used? I had something like that for the past 3 days, all the processes on my PC took barely 1.5GB, and both task manager and winsys showed me having only 900mb out of 8Gb free.

 

This may seem stupid, but I started new windows Install and just canceled the process after few minutes. Nothing was deleted and my PC works normally again. Actually, I'm not sure if that reinstall trick will always work, I had to cancel it because of some other issue, thought I'd reinstall it later, but as I got into Windows on 1st try, no need to reinstall now.

Go on Google and search for "reveton bleepingcomputer" and click on the one titled, "Remove the Win32/Reveton or Police Central e-crime Unit...". It's a detailed guide on how to get rid of it.

I kinda want a system restore as a last resort.

But Yeah I'm having the problem of my Ram and CPU being eaten up by the system processes like Hcontrol or Atouch etc...

might help to pick out the virus...might not....(if its a system process)

 

have you tried telling your computer to not start up any processes/services and restart?

I can't even play CSS because my computer is running at 100% and I already posted a problem about cod not working because of the .dat

You could get an anti virus program. After that turn off your computer Start up in Safe Mode then run the A.V. Run a scan. That's usually what I do when I get hit by big viruses.

i mentioned this above but i dont think you saw it(or something)...have you tried scanning with malware bytes?
